What the FOREO LUNA is used for
FOREO LUNA 2, which is made of non-porous medical-grade silicone, is used both for effective deep cleansing of the skin and for the prevention of facial wrinkles. It uses the so-called dual T-sonic pulsation, which is a technology of alternating two-point sonic pulses that pass through the skin. The manufacturer claims that the brush removes 99.5 % of sebum and impurities from the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, as many as 12 pulsation levels can be set.
FOREO LUNA is available in five different colours, each colour is designed for a different skin type:
- 🟥 Pink for normal skin
- 🟦 Blue for combination skin
- 🟪 Purple for sensitive skin
- 🟩 Peppermint for oily skin
- ⬛ Black is designed for thicker male skin
One side of the device is covered with silicone touch points, the arrangement, shape, and size of which vary depending on the type of skin you bought the device for. These touch points together form the surface of the soft brush, thus replacing the bristles. This side is used together with any of your favourite skin cleansing gels. The FOREO LUNA 2 generates up to 8 000 pulsations per minute, making regular skin cleansing significantly more effective, removing make-up residue, sebum and dead skin cells. This results in a reduction in the appearance of blackheads, acne, smoother skin and a greater effect when using other skin care products as their absorption is improved.
The other side of the device is covered with semicircular grooves. This surface is designed to prevent skin ageing. Using low-frequency pulses and your favourite serum or cream, the device helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and improve skin firmness and elasticity.

Delivery and package contents
Shipping to the UK takes approximately 3-5 days from ordering and the package typically arrives via express carriers such as DHL, UPS or EMS.
Package includes:
- The device
- USB charging cable (without socket connector)
- Fabric bag to carry your FOREO with you when travelling
- Skin serum sample
- Mysterious magnetic wheel
The meaning of the magnetic wheel took me a while to decipher, but eventually, I have discovered that it is a scratch card. After you have wiped down the field, you will find the code you should enter after registering your device on Foreo.com/support to activate the two-year warranty. At the same time, you may receive a small reward for doing so. If the magnetic wheel is used for something else, I did not figure it out, so if you know more feel free to add a comment below this article.

FOREO For You Mobile App
FOREO has developed its own app for its devices. You can register each device via its barcode and then enjoy other benefits, such as running preset skin care programmes. LUNA pairs with the app using Bluetooth.
Honestly, when using FOREO LUNA 2, I found the application quite unnecessary. If you have a device from the newer series (FOREO LUNA 3), you can use it to activate four preset additional massage programs, but the LUNA 2 does not have this option. The mobile app was more useful for me when using FOREO UFO, you can read more about it in the review.
The app is available for both Android and iOS phones and can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store. It is currently possible to set it up in 12 languages in addition to English.

User manual FOREO LUNA 2
The FOREO LUNA has one main centre button to control it, and then two buttons marked with – and + signs to adjust the vibration intensity. In addition, by pressing these two buttons at the same time, the device can be locked and unlocked, which is very practical for travel. Therefore, if you cannot turn the device on by pressing the main button, it is very likely that you need to unlock it this way when you receive it. Mine was also locked at the beginning.
Before use, it is a good idea to remove make-up, then moisten the skin and the device and apply a cleansing gel to your face (or directly to the FOREO). You can use the one you normally use to clean your skin or order the original one from FOREO. However, it must be a gel product, not a lotion, micellar water, etc. Be sure not to use a scrub or gel with any grains, it might damage the device.
Press the main button to switch the device on and it will vibrate immediately. You can use the – and + buttons to adjust the intensity you are comfortable with. I personally ended up with the lowest intensity, as the stronger pulsations were quite uncomfortable, especially in some areas. You can also increase or decrease the intensity as you clean your face, depending on the areas you are cleaning.
Every 15 seconds, intermittent pulsations alert you that it is time to move on to the next part of the face. After one minute, there is a brief interruption of three pulsations, which serves as a warning that the cleaning phase is over. You can continue for a while, but if you exceed two minutes, the device will shut down as a protection against overuse.
So once you have finished cleaning, press the main button. The vibration will turn off and the base will light up. The device remains in the standby mode and you have time to rinse your face, dry it, and apply toner and cream or serum.
Then press the main button again to start the lifting phase. Use the semi-circular grooved surface to gently press the device against each area to gently massage the face and work in the products. Again, you can choose the intensity of the pulsations. Every 12 seconds, a short vibration interruption alerts you that it is time to move on to another part, and after a minute, a triple vibration interruption alerts you that the time is up. The device will again switch itself off after two minutes if you do not do it yourself. Excess to everything is bad.
Finally, take care of your little helper. Thanks to the fact that its entire body, including bristles, is made of silicone, which is easy to keep hygienically clean, just rinse it under running water, dry it with a towel and leave it to dry. FOREO LUNA is completely waterproof, so you don’t have to worry about water getting in where it is not supposed to. You can even take it with you into the shower and carry out the entire cleaning process there.

Regular use and effects
Right after the first use, I felt that my skin was significantly softer to the touch. I could tell that my skin had been deeply cleansed without any irritation or redness. However, I needed to fine-tune the strength of the pulsations because during the first treatment I left them as they were preset, and it was really too strong for my taste, it even made my head tingle.
I have not found anywhere how often I can use FOREO LUNA. I am used to treating my skin twice a day, so I was wondering if I could use FOREO to cleanse each time. I, therefore, contacted customer support directly on the website, where a live chat is available. A member of staff told me not to exceed a total of three minutes and that cleaning in the morning and evening every day is fine.
I use a pink device that is designed for normal skin types. This one can be said to be universal if you are not sure which one to choose. After the first week, I have already noticed a firming of the skin texture and reduction of blackheads and softening of pores. Although I have read in some reviews that it can increase the appearance of pimples at the beginning of use until the skin is properly cleansed, I personally did not notice any irritation or aggravation of the skin.

Experience with FOREO LUNA 2 after one month of use
For the first three weeks or so I really used the device twice a day, in the morning and evening.
However, I got the impression that that was really too much for my skin, so now I use FOREO LUNA for cleansing only in the evening or every other day and otherwise I cleanse my skin separately with gel as before. But it is definitely worth using the device before you want to apply any masks or other deep treatments, as the brush prepares your pores perfectly.
On the other hand, I do not have a very good experience with the FOREO LUNA 2 device in cases where I just had a pimple or scab on my face, because the silicone bristles usually scraped it off while cleaning. So if you have acne-prone skin and you want to purchase FOREO LUNA, I would recommend buying FOREO LUNA 3, which should have longer and finer bristles.
I haven’t had to charge the device once yet and it still looks brand new.

Summary
FOREO LUNA 2 will be a pleasant addition to daily care for anyone who wants to streamline their regular skin cleansing. It is especially appreciated by users with oily or combination skin prone to acne and blackheads, who will notice its effectiveness the fastest. In my opinion, lifting is just something a little extra, FOREO has more interesting products for that.
The most common barrier to purchase will certainly be hesitation due to the price of the product, which may seem quite high. On the other hand, it is a one-time investment and the return is long-term because the device is very easy to maintain and there is no need to buy any replacement heads or batteries. Medical grade silicone is very durable and hygienic, so as long as you do not treat the device in any drastic way, it can serve you for quite a few years. The built-in battery is powerful, and most long-term users report that even with daily use, it needs to be charged about once every six months. What’s more, you choose the products you use to care for your skin; the device is not tied to any particular expensive products – although the company also offers its original cosmetics.
But if you’re going to get a FOREO LUNA right now, it is worth considering whether you would rather spend a few dozen pounds more (about £30) and get the FOREO LUNA 3 straight away, where the brush covers most of the body of the device, silicone bristles are longer and softer, and the mobile app allows you to use targeted skincare programmes.
