A turmeric latte instead of your morning coffee? We like trying new things, and if it looks healthy, why not give it a try! The manufacturer of Golden Curcuma Herbal Latte claims that the drink has a proven anti-inflammatory effect, strengthens the immune system, is an excellent source of antioxidants, naturally increases energy, improves concentration, helps balance digestion, and contains no artificial sweeteners or flavours.

That sounds good, but it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t do a little research on the manufacturer, the product and its ingredients. We will be happy to share the results of our research and testing with you.

Composition of Golden Curcuma Herbal Latte and effect of ingredients

Twenty per cent of all the ingredients are the aforementioned turmeric. This exotic spice from India has been used for over two and a half thousand years. Originally it was probably only used as a colourant due to its deep yellow colour, but gradually it began to be used as a flavouring as well. It is also a key ingredient in curry spices. Turmeric contains active substances curcuminoids, the main one being curcumin. It is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial and supports the health of the heart, and joints, and according to some sources, prevents the division of certain types of cancer cells. However, the bioavailability of curcumin is not high, so its absorption and use by the body needs to be supported by the use of other substances.

The beverage powder also contains two other types of spices. Cinnamon can kill bacteria, therefore, it has disinfectant and antibiotic effects, stimulates blood circulation, lowers blood pressure, helps improve digestion, and lowers blood sugar and LDL cholesterol. It is also often used when trying to lose weight.

Ginger promotes the release of flatulence, soothes the stomach, and relieves vomiting and difficulties associated with diarrhoea and bloating, plus, it is effective prevention of nausea. Thanks to its effective warming effect and stimulation of blood circulation, it is also a popular ingredient in tea.

The three spices are complemented by a rice powder drink consisting of rice, oat beta-glucans, sunflower oil and salt. The drink is sweetened with coconut sugar.

The rice, sunflower oil, turmeric, coconut sugar, cinnamon and ginger come from organic farming. The product contains no artificial colours, thickeners or preservatives. The company declares that it takes the utmost care to be environmentally friendly, working directly with growers and local farmers, allowing it to oversee the entire process of producing raw material while ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality, safety and traceability.

Use and dosage of Golden Curcuma Herbal Latte

The recommended daily dose, which should not be exceeded, is one drink per day.

The manufacturer recommends mixing two teaspoons of powder (10 g) with 250 ml of cold or hot water.

The package has a total of 125 g, which means 12 doses of turmeric latte. At the price of £10.96 per pack, it comes to £0.91 per dose.

If you like the drink, you can currently order three packs for the price of two in the 2+1 promotion, which reduces the price of one ready-make drink to less than £0.60.

Our own experience with Golden Curcuma Herbal Latte

The dry blend itself has a distinct pungent aroma of ginger. We decided to mix the powder with hot water for the first time, as we were testing it in the winter months. Even the finished rich orange coloured drink has the typical slightly spicy taste of ginger, and will immediately delight anyone cold or struggling with a cold or sore throat.

What is good to mention is the fact that no matter how hard you try, the powder will not dissolve completely. It is, therefore, necessary to always stir the mixture thoroughly before drinking, otherwise, most of the turmeric will end up settling at the bottom and you will end up eating it with a spoon, which may not be a gourmet experience for everyone.

We also expected a more pronounced milky taste, after all, Golden Curcuma is presented as a „latte“. It is true that rice milk in general is not very aromatic, and here it has a little chance of making its way among such distinctive ingredients. Still, it is more practical for a drink to contain plant-based milk than to contain, for example, dried cow’s milk. This makes the product vegetarian and vegan friendly and much easier to digest than if it contained animal milk.

The whole time we were drinking the drink, we were wondering whether we liked it or not. But we tend to think so because we attribute the initial disillusionment to a different expectation. After a few days of regular use, we got used to the tasing and don’t mind. If you like, you can mix the mixture with milk or a plant-based drink. The taste is then more delicate and, for some, more delicious.

In any case, what we evaluate positively are the effects and the feeling in the body. We tested it in the last days of recovery from viral infection in the intestines, with a lingering sore throat and still not ideal digestion. However, we evaluated ingredients as not risky, but rather helpful, and we must say that the drink did the throat, stomach and intestines good.

For the maximum anti-inflammatory effect, it is advisable to take the drink regularly for a longer period. Turmeric is an interesting component of a healthy diet with many positive effects on our organism, and it is good that there is such a drink that makes it quite convenient to include turmeric in the diet every single day. In addition, we appreciate the fact that our body does not have to absorb unnecessary artificial substances, fillers, dyes, etc. We recommend just a little experimentation so that everyone can find a way of preparation that suits their taste.
